TPPN 10/88 (Technical Policy and Procedure Notice, 1988)​

The Technical Policy and Procedure Notice # 10/88 (TPPN 10/88) of the New York City Department of Buildings (NYCDOB) requires for surveying and monitoring of all landmark buildings located on a 90’ radius of a job site.  Vibration Monitoring Equipment and Existing Conditions Photographic Surveys are the steps and procedures needed to take when it comes to complying with this strict construction code. Initial construction phases, primarily demolition and foundation work, are known to create and emit vibration shocks that affect nearby structures, where Landmark buildings, due to their years of existence, might well be affected.

Pre-construction surveys

Pre-construction surveys are required before construction on job sites for the protection of all parties involved. We document by digital video and photography, all existing conditions on the interior and exterior of any type of structure.  We have surveyed homes, businesses, office buildings, bridges, schools, and dams. These videos are comprehensive and record all surfaces. This is to ensure that there is nothing missing in case of a damage claim. Sometimes people find fault or flaws in normal construction. This may also be called a "Building Envelope Survey". These surveys usually stop a claim from being filed after an initial review of the video. For NYC, a Photographic PDF Report is provided for the NYC Department of Buildings.
